About
Art school, a civil engineering degree and years of frontend code.

The path
During my years at art school I discovered the endless world of the internet, back when the web was taking its first steps. At university I chose science and graduated in Civil Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, even though engineering did not become my path.
I went all in on graphics and the web: first learning to code, then designing interfaces and templates, and finally leading the whole design process of digital products.
Art, science and technology: three worlds that now live together in every project I work on.
How I work
For me, everything in product design is a team effort. The early stages of the process are more private and reflective: you try to understand what you have to work with, such as data, possible interviews with people and earlier tests, and also what you don’t have at that moment.
Then comes the exchange with colleagues, and that is often where the best ideas are born, thinking things through together over a draft and a beer. With developers I like to keep a direct line, from the first idea to the release. Having written code for many years, I can see where the tricky parts might be, and how to make them simple.
The same goes for the other stakeholders in the company, managers, product owners and everyone in marketing: we talk things over, sometimes we see them differently, but in the end we reach a choice everyone understands.
When a project or a new feature finally sees the light, I like to think it belongs a little to everyone.
